Drone aircraft carrier: Portugal has ordered a multi-purpose support ship from Damen Shipyards Group that can carry different types of drones
The Portuguese Navy has signed a contract with Romanian company Damen Shipyards Group to build an advanced Multi-Purpose Support Ship (MPSS), which will be able to carry rosette drones.

The information was shared by the Profit publication. The drone aircraft carrier comes in two versions. The first has a payload of 7,000 tonnes and a size of 107×20 metres, while the second has a payload of 9,000 tonnes and a size of 130×20 metres. The ship is operated by 48 people. There are also 100 support personnel on board.
The MPSS boasts a modular design with different compartments. It is also capable of carrying unmanned surface, unmanned underwater and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The ship will be built for the Portuguese Navy in Romania. The MPSS will perform search and rescue missions, as well as act as amphibious support. There is no timeframe for the project yet.
