Amazon has announced plans to lay off another 180 employees from its video games division. The company confirmed the second round of cuts in its division this year after Aftermath announced the closure of its Crown Twitch channel and Game Growth team as part of a strategic refocus on Prime Gaming.

Here's What We Know

"We’ve listened to our customers and we know delivering free games every month is what they want most, so we are refining our Prime benefit to increase our focus there," - wrote Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games, in an email to employees, "I know this is difficult news and that the impact will be felt widely. It never feels good to say goodbye to colleagues. This isn’t a decision the leadership team came to quickly; it was the result of extensive considerations and road mapping for our future."
