Electronic Arts closes Ridgeline Games studio, which was responsible for developing content for Battlefield
As we wrote earlier, EA has announced a reduction in staff, which has affected several studios under its wing. One of these studios is Ridgeline Games, which is being completely closed after the departure of its head and narrative director Marcus Lehto.
Here's What We Know
EA President of Entertainment and Technology Laura Miele announced the closure of the studio and noted that Criterion Games will develop future content for Battlefield. Some members of the Ridgeline team will have the opportunity to join Ripple Effect Studios, which is currently working on separate multiplayer content for Battlefield.
Miele expressed confidence in Battlefield's ambitious vision, highlighting the leadership of Vince Zampella and Byron Beede. Marcus Leto's departure triggered the immediate appointment of Criterion to oversee the projects, leading to the closure of Ridgeline as a separate studio in Seattle.
