Authoritative insider Tez2, who specialises in news about Rockstar projects, reported on GTAForums that the official announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI may take place in the next few months and will be accompanied by a themed event in GTA V, which will start with the December update

If the developers decide to delay the announcement of GTA VI, then the event in GTA V will be released later.

This information is indirectly confirmed by the recent financial report of Take-Two Interactive, which says that the company is forecasting record profits in the next fiscal year (from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025). And none of Take-Two's potential games will make as much profit as GTA VI.
