A Ubisoft Singapore employee has indirectly confirmed the development of an Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake
In the middle of 2023, several reputable sources reported that Ubisoft Singapore studio, which is "famous" for extremely problematic and delayed development of online action game Skull & Bones, started production of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake.
The French publisher did not comment on these rumours, but now there is another indirect confirmation.
Here's What We Know
On his LinkedIn page, the lead cinematic designer at Ubisoft Singapore, Isaac Tan, indicated that he has been developing an unannounced project based on the Assassin's Creed universe since 2023.
And then the logical chain begins: in the past Isaac Tan worked on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, after which he started working on Skull & Bones. Considering the amount of Ubisoft Singapore's experience in creating pirate-themed games and the fact that Skull & Bones is likely to be a failure and its support will soon be terminated, probably Ubisoft will not want to lose a huge amount of finished material and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake seems to be a reasonable solution to get some dividends from the work done.
Besides, after all the problems with Skull & Bones, it's hard to assume that Ubisoft Singapore will trust another fully independent project.
As a reminder, Skull & Bones will be released on the 16th of February.
