A joke or a hidden announcement? Indiana Jones creators may be working on a new instalment of the cult shooter Quake

The Xbox Developer_Direct 2024 show took place a few days ago, where five games were unveiled, but a sixth may have been revealed.

Here's What We Know

While showing a clip of work on the action-adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, MachineGames Studios showed off the inner workings of their office and likely hinted at another game.

One of the shots showed a glimpse of the working board, where attentive viewers, among a number of schematics and sketches, saw the inscription "AKE6" and the easily recognisable logo of the iconic Quake shooter series.

It's hard to assume that in the middle of a story about Indiana Jones, the camera "accidentally" framed the "accidentally" drawn Quake logo.

At first glance it may seem surprising that the development of Quake 6 was entrusted to MachineGames studio and not to id Software studio, but on the other hand the Swedish developer showed itself perfectly in the reboot of Wolfenstein franchise. It's also worth remembering that this company developed a set of additional levels for the recently released Quake 2 remaster, and in general has a lot of experience in shooter development.

Or maybe it's a joke of the developers? - Time will tell.
