Sonic X Shadow Generations may be announced at State of Play - rumours
Even before the official announcement of Sony's State of Play, there were many rumours about the games that could potentially be shown at the show. Xbox Era co-founder Nick Baker hinted at a Sonic Generations-related announcement, with a special focus on Sonic's rival Shadow.
Here's What We Know
This may indicate a possible re-release or remaster of the game with Shadow as a new playable character. @Kurakasis, a source claiming that Metro Awakening will be the next 4A Games title, suggested that the upcoming game could be called Sonic X Shadow Generations. Intriguingly, Baker supported this speculation by retweeting it, adding weight to its credibility
Although it sounds like a new game, it could still be a remaster or re-release. Then again, the last Sonic Team game in the franchise was Sonic Frontiers in 2022 (it developed Sonic Superstars together with Arzest), so a sequel is out of the question.
When We Can Expect It
State of Play will take place today, 31st January at 00:00 EEC, and will last 40 minutes.
