Insider: two new Xbox consoles will be released in 2026, one of which will be a handheld device
In the network continues to appear information about new consoles of the Xbox line.
Earlier it became known that Xbox plans to release a device in 2026, and a few days ago, journalist Jez Corden reported that the corporation plans to release a portable console, to which the head of Xbox subtly hinted that this may be true.
A well-known insider under the nickname MAGG confirmed both of the above theses and even slightly expanded them.
Here's What We Know
During the Xbox News Cast, MAGG revealed that 2026 will indeed be an important year for Microsoft, as the company plans to release two devices at once!
The first novelty will be a traditional fixed console with increased performance and other technical improvements. In fact, it will be a next generation device or at least an intermediate one.
The second console will be a portable device of the Xbox brand, which is being developed by Surface. According to MAGG, it will be a relatively cheap console with a touch screen, which will be able to run games for Xbox both through the "cloud" and natively. It's mentioned that it will be a device similar to the Nintendo Switch in terms of how it works, and can be used either handheld or docked and played on a large screen.
Given how popular portable consoles are, it's no surprise if Microsoft wants to try its own hand at this market.
