Even with an expected slowdown in sales this month, the Nintendo Switch is still impressing with its sales pace in its seventh year of life. And this is true in the United States, where the console has already surpassed Nintendo Wii sales.

Here's What We Know

According to GameIndustry, the Nintendo Switch has surpassed Wii sales in the United States in its seven years of existence. Not least of all, this happened due to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which definitely accelerated the process.

The current sales of the Nintendo Switch in the United States are slightly less than one million less than the Xbox 360. At the same time, the difference between it and PlayStation 2 sales in the US is less than 5 million units. There is reason to believe that the Switch will even surpass these figures in the near future, especially during the holiday season.

As of 30 June, Nintendo Switch's lifetime global sales totalled 129.53 million units sold, ranking it as the third best-selling game system of all time. Only the PlayStation2 (with 155 million units sold) and the Nintendo DS (with 154.02 million units sold) are ahead of it.
