On July 17, a realistic mod for Battlefield 3 is released - it has being developed for seven years
Although Battlefield 3 was released 11 years ago, it is still passionately adored by fans. A group of enthusiasts with more than eighty people is preparing to release a Reality Mod for Battlefield 3 - a complete shooter remake, paying a lot of attention to team play.
The list of changes in Reality Mod is not just a high-quality modification, but a full-fledged fan remake. Judge for yourself, over seven years, a group of craftsmen improved and developed almost every aspect of the original. The extension includes:
- Completely redesigned interface and gameplay aimed at a tactical team game.
- More realistic game pacing with new respawn mechanics and changed character movement speed.
- Large-scale maps and additional modes.
- New models for weapons, assets and skins.
- A new system of treatment using first-aid kits. The number of respawns is limited.
- Atmospheric visual effects.
- In-game chat with multiple radio channels and surround sound.
- New bleeding mechanics and improved weapon handling.
- Battles for more than a hundred people on one server.
- And more. Read more here.
Not all of the specified changes will immediately be in the modification. The team intends to stitch most of it into the release version, and then gradually add and polish the remaining items. Custom maps, an editor for them, and resource mechanics are planned to come later.
When creating Reality Mod, fans were guided by the Project REality Mod modification for Battlefront 2. A large number of people contributed to the novelty. It is not only about developers of user content - the idea was also supported on Patreon.
Reality Mod version 0.1 for Battlefield 3 will be released on July 17. No money will be taken for the modification, but in order to run it, you need to have a licensed copy of the third part with all additions.
