Doom and Heretic inside Doom
It seems that Doom has been launched on just about everything, including digital pregnancy tests and miniature LEGO monitors. But people's imagination has no limits. Following the advice of the masters from the show "Pimp My Ride", a guy under the nickname khsws installed a shooter inside another shooter.
According to the programmer, he managed to find an exploit in the DOS version of Doom II that allows the execution of code in the game. Thus, he was able to load the code of the original Doom into the shooter. For this, they came up with a port called Chocolate Doom.
Next, kgsws built a separate location, similar to a full-fledged cinema. In it, you can find interactive boards explaining the essence of fashion, posters with other works of the programmer and a hall where you can play Doom without leaving the second part of the series. The programmer created two options for displaying the "guest game" - through full-screen mode and with a view from the amphitheater. In addition, in addition to Doom, the kgsws assembly also launched Heretic, a shooter from Raven Software that runs on the Doom engine.
You can learn more about the fashion creation process from video of kgsws. For fifteen minutes, he tells how exactly his idea works, and also shows the final result. He exhibited his work at GitHub.
