Capcom summarized the results of the first quarter of the fiscal year. The results are not the best, but the company's analysts are not sad.

The main thing from the document:

  • Compared to the same period last year, net sales decreased by 47.9%, and operating profit decreased by 48.9%.
    • The company attributes the drop in the first quarter of the current fiscal year to the lack of a high-profile release like Resident Evil Village.
  • During the quarter, Capcom sold 11.7 million copies of games.
    • This indicator was achieved with the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak and thanks to the sales of already released games of other franchises.

Despite the decline, Capcom does not intend to revise its forecast for the current fiscal year. "Capcom is on track for 10 years of continuous operating profit growth", - says the report. If the document is to be believed, the company will focus on games that are planned for the second half of the year.

Among Capcom's upcoming releases are a remake of Resident Evil 4, which will be released on March 24, 2023. Also on the list there are Street Fighter 6 and Exoprimal - they will be released during 2023.
