One of the hardest bosses of Elden Ring from the beginning was even harder

The Elden Ring fan community agrees on the opinion that Malenya is one of the toughest bosses in the game. Even after several patches, not everyone can beat Mikkeli's Blade. If the dataminer is to be believed, in version 1.0 Malenya was beating even harder.

A user nicknamed kotn3I described the features of the pre-release version of Elden Ring. It was ready on October 8, 2021 - before the technical testing. According to the expert, then a lot was different from the final version: the location of items and enemies, descriptions of things and even the behavior of enemies. 

As an example, the dataminer took apart the battle with Malenia. The boss blocks blows much more often and generally behaves more aggressively in the first phase. Malenia can dance her long "Water Dance" combo at any time, while in later versions she resorts to skills when her health bar drops below 80%.

kotn3I believes that the Water Dance then and now are different techniqueи. If you believe the name of the heroine's sword from version 1.0, the dance known to players was previously called the Blade of Malenya. The former "dance," on the other hand, was not as long and had fewer pauses. Thus, the boss was handed two similar skills, which could follow one after the other.

In the second phase of the battle, the explosion of "Red Eonia" is a little slower, but the skill is applied faster.
