CapCom has sharply increased the prices of its games on Steam for several countries at once. This is evidenced by data from Steam DB portal.

Additional costs on games of the Japanese publisher residents of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Uruguay and Turkey will have to pay. In some countries, prices were doubled, and in some - almost eight times. In Colombia and Peru, prices did not increase as much, and in some titlles even decreased.

The price increase affected the latest Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and Mega Man games. In addition, the cost of various DLC and bundles with these projects has increased. Although in Kazakhstan, for example, Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 remake began to cost 35% cheaper on average.

At the end of the first quarter of 2022, Capcom's operating profit decreased by 48.9%. The company attributed the drop in performance to the lack of high-profile hits like Resident Evil Village at the beginning of the year. At the same time, the publisher pinned high hopes on sales in the fall of 2022 and early 2023, when the remake of Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 are scheduled for release.
