The development of Beyond Good And Evil 2 will continue for several more years
In recent years more and more news about Beyond Good And Evil 2 has started to appear, and the game has been particularly actively shaking the info-field this year. But, according to information shared by insider Tom Henderson, we are several years away from the end of development.
Michel Ancel, the game's director, left the project in 2020, but he assured us that "everything is going great". It's been two whole years since he left, and we still haven't received any exact information about the game from the developers. Last month, an insider reported that the company stared to test Beyond Good And Evil 2 and he received screenshots and footage of the game under the condition that they would not be published.
According to the insider, the game now looks much less rich than on materials published in 2018. This may indicate active development and expansion of the game world.
Insider's sources say that even though it's been many years, they have "not enough development directions" and not all developers understand what they're doing right now.
What also deserves criticism is that Sarah Arellano recently announced that she is the lead author on the game. This means that the game has a story that has yet to be finalized. The author previously worked on the story of WoW at Blizzard.
After assessing the current state of the game, and the fact that some of the story hasn't even been written yet, Henderson suggested that development would last at least a few years. Although "it's not likely to be a problem for those who have already waited 15 years."
