Ubisoft's financial report revealed that the French publisher is developing the first multiplayer game in the Assassin's Creed franchise. The project has a working title Project Invictus, and the creators of the similar game concept - For Honor - are working on it.

According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Project Invictus will be a part of the ambitious Assassin's Creed Infinity platform, along with two other games: Red (about feudal Japan) and Hexe (about Europe in the time of the Witch Hunt).
