Icelandic studio Haenir Studio, which employs only two people, has released the first gameplay trailer of its debut project Blight: Survival.
The game looks unusual and technological, which is not surprising, because it is created on the Unreal Engine 5, which allows you to implement almost any idea.
Here's What We Know
The concept of the game is very non-trivial: it will be a cooperative roguelite action in an alternative 14th century environment.
In Blight: Survival raging rampant plague that drives people insane and turns them into horrible monsters covered with fungal growths. In the comments users have already noticed the parallels between the Icelandic game and famous action The Last of Us. There are similarities in both setting and gameplay mechanics and features. "The Last of Us in the Middle Ages" - so aptly described the new project gamers.
Here's What We Know
In addition to the open battles and hidden assassinations shown in the trailer, the developers promise to add the following options in Blight: Survival:
- Co-op for up to four players;
- The ability to loot people, but with the possibility of revenge from the victims;
- A huge map to explore with lots of secrets;
- A large selection of weapons and armor.
It's not quite clear how all of these options will be implemented in the game, but there's still a long way to go before release. At this stage Blight: Survival game looks intriguing and may well become a discovery, probably next year.
