Microsoft's head of gaming Phil Spencer would like to see new games in the Warcraft and StarCraft universes, but before the merger with Activision Blizzard is just a dream
Microsoft's head of gaming Phil Spencer in a recent interview with Wired shared his thoughts on the possibility of continuing the Warcraft and StarCraft franchises after the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
Here's What We Know
The head of Xbox said that he is personally interested in releasing new games in the Warcraft and StarCraft universes, and looks forward to discussing the issue with Activision Blizzard management, but such a conversation may not take place until June 2023 - after the final merger of the two companies.
He noted that StarCraft was a major event for the gaming industry and for eSports, and had changed the way we approach storytelling in strategy games, which is why it deserved to be continued.
Warcraft has been very popular all these years, and its universe is constantly developing and becoming more and more detailed.
