Netflix announced a feature film and animated series on the shooter series Gears of War

Streaming service Netflix has announced two film adaptations of the famous shooter series Gears of War.

At the moment the company, in collaboration with the developers of the latest parts of the Gears of War - the Canadian studio The Coalition - plans to release a feature film and animated series with a high age rating.

Both projects are in the early stages of production, with no word yet on which director or writer will be working on them. However, it has already been noted that if the first screenings are successful, they will have a sequel in the future.

Gears of War is a shooter series, the first part of which was published in 2006. The events of the game unfold on the planet Sera, whose inhabitants are constantly fighting for survival against a bloodthirsty race, dubbed Locust Horde.
