All Final Fantasy 14 fans who spend hours in the main cities will almost certainly enjoy the fan modification of the game for VR, which will soon reach the alpha testing stage.

Here's What We Know

The modification is made by the popular Flat2VR development team, which has already released relatively many ports of games for virtual reality. The mod supports full first and third person motion control. One of the creators wrote that the third-person mode is somewhat experimental, but it's how you'll probably want to play the game.

In the video next to the announcement, you can see how the mod transforms the busy MMO interface into VR. It overlays your ability grid and mini-map onto your character's third-person view. In a few battle shots, you can see how tilting your head essentially simulates turning the camera with your mouse. While the in-game camera still works, you can rotate it independently of the headset.
