10 million people took Warhammer: Vermintide while it was free on Steam
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is just a few weeks away from release, and the original Vermintide celebrated its seventh anniversary in October. In honor of this, its developer Fatshark gave Vermintide 2 on Steam for free from November 3 to 7. Recently, it announced that the game was taken by more than 10 million users in this short period of time, thanks to which the game returned to Top 10 Steam games.
Although the giveaway is over, Fatshark's celebration is not over yet. The first half of the free DLC called A Treacherous Adventure has been released, adding a new map called Trail of Treachery. It's a snowy mountain pass through which you need to escort a caravan carrying a guardian stone to the village of Tockstadt, where the second half of A Treacherous Adventure will likely take place.
