Krafton Publishing's ambitious plans: buying Swedish studio Neon Giant and opening a division in Canada to develop a big-budget RPG

South Korean company Krafton - publisher of PUBG and The Callisto Protocol - announced its intentions to acquire Swedish studio Neon Giant.

Here's What We Know

Neon Giant is a small collective founded by former developers of games such as Bulletstorm, Far Cry 3, Gears of War, Wolfenstein, and DOOM.

The team formed in 2018, and its only game released to date is the cyberpunk shooter The Ascent. Details of the deal are not yet known.

In addition, Krafton plans to create a major new division in Canada that will take on the development of an ambitious RPG based on Yeongdo Lee's novels The Bird That Drinks Tears, based on Korean mythology.

A few months ago, Krafton showed a concept trailer and the first art for the project, which generated a lot of interest due to its unconventional nature.
