Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series relaunches in question: Team Ninja creative director denied information from the head of his own studio
Two days ago gaming news editorials, including ours, published curious information.
At the G-Star conference, Team Ninja studio head Fumihiko Yasuda said that his game designers are preparing a reboot of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series.
Fans of the Japanese game hadn't had time to rejoice, but today received a rebuttal. This time Team Ninja creative director Tom Lee told VGC that the information about the development of these projects is incorrect:
Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden are long-standing Team Ninja franchises. Our studio's history and reputation is based on those games.
Needless to say, when talking about our past and future projects, it is impossible not to mention both series. However, there are no details or information about either of them right now.
Like many of our loyal fans, we share enthusiasm for the return of these games. And we'll be sure to share news about it when and if that day comes.
It's not clear what's going on at Team Ninja Studios: either someone rushed the announcement or someone is out of the loop at the company. Or maybe someone at the conference didn't handle the translation well.
All this looks even stranger when we hear from a respected insider that PlatinumGames is working on the Ninja Gaiden relaunch.
