In early 2022, former employees of CD Projekt Red created their own studio Rebel Wolves, which was headed by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz - the leading game designer and development manager of The Witcher 3.

Here's What We Know

Rebel Wolves - a company of 37 experienced game designers, not only from CD Projekt, but also from other famous studios, who have extensive experience in creating such projects as The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, Gears of War, etc.

The young Polish studio has enough experience, knowledge, work hands and ambition. Rebel Wolves immediately announced that their first project will be a big-budget fantasy role-playing game in the dark fantasy setting, based on the Unreal Engine 5, which will be released on PC and consoles.

The first art for the new game, unveiled in February 2022:

What the company lacked was funding, but now that problem has been solved as well. According to VGC, the Chinese corporation NetEase has become a major shareholder of Rebel Wolves. The studio has fully retained its independence and creative independence, but has received enough financial investment for full-scale production of the first game, which is planned as the beginning of a major franchise.

We are happy to welcome NetEase Games as our new shareholder and partner. The fact that one of the leading international game companies supports our project gives confidence to the Rebel Wolves team. The funding provided by NetEase was exactly what we needed to spread our wings. Now we have the resources to create a world-class AAA game, so we can focus on what's most important - development.
