A reputable insider claims that there will be no announcements from Microsoft and Sony at The Game Awards

The Game Awards show is the main event of the gaming world, but it was reported that this year it will take place without announcements from key industry figures: Microsoft and Sony.

During the podcast The Xbox Two reputable journalist and insider Jez Corden said that according to unconfirmed information Microsoft has decided to cancel its own presentation at TGA. The reason: the American corporation doesn't want to draw extra attention to its activities in the background of the proceedings of its deal with Activision Blizzard, which has already complicated significantly.

Sony also adheres to the same strategy, not wanting to give more trump cards in the hands of opponents from Microsoft. Recall that Sony previously canceled its annual PlayStation Showcase. Insiders claim it was because of the hype surrounding the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard deal.

The Game Awards show is sure to be bright and full of interesting presentations, but it's very likely that viewers won't see announcements from Microsoft and Sony.

The Game Awards will take place on December 8.
