Epic Games introduced accounts for children under the age of 13
Epic Games has introduced a new type of account suitable for children so that they can safely play games like Fortnite, Fall Guys or Rocket League. The company will automatically transfer to this category all accounts that have an age of less than 13 years in the profile settings, "or the age of digital consent in their country, whichever is higher".
Restrictions on such an account include disabling voice and text chat, purchasing games or add-ons, downloading non-Epic Games games, custom display names, and linking your Epic account to places like Facebook and Twitch. Some of these features can be re-activated through a provided parent or guardian email address, and children can request permission to enable them.
Children will still be able to play games such as Fortnite, Rocket League and Fall Guys online with friends and strangers. All previous purchases or in-game rewards will also remain.
