Returnal is the latest exclusive that Sony has released on PC, and as it turned out, not every PC will be able to run it on medium-high settings, as the game requires as much as 32 GB of RAM!

Of course, the minimum requirements are 16 GB (which is also a lot for minimum), but the recommended ones require 32 GB of memory. To get an idea of how much it is, we can take, for example, Microsoft Flight Simulator, which has a minimum requirement of 8 GB, while Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light 2 and A Plague Tale: Requiem require no more than 16 GB.

Returnal is a third-person shooter that has undoubtedly stunning visuals, but it's still unclear why the game needs so much RAM to reach its full potential. The rest of the system requirements seem pretty normal for a game ported over from a next-gen console, as you'll need at least an Intel i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor, as well as an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super or AMD RX 6700 GPU XT or better to meet the recommended specs.
