UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) conducted a public survey asking gamers for their opinion on the pros and cons of the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

Here's What We Know

The commission reviewed 2,100 emails.

75% of respondents were positive about the merger. They see no threat to Sony and Nintendo, or to the gaming market in general. In their opinion, Microsoft will fix Activision Blizzard and encourage the gaming giant to create more new projects.

Those who support the acquisition of Activision Blizzard are sure that it is not in Microsoft's interest to make Call of Duty and other games exclusive to their own platforms.

On the contrary, the opponents of the deal believe that the exclusivity of Activision Blizzard games is inevitable, and as an argument cite the projects of Bethesda, which after joining Microsoft stopped releasing and announcing versions of its games for PlayStation.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority will carefully study and analyze the public's opinion and probably listen to it. The CMA will announce its decision by March 1, 2023.
