Is it really Metal Gear Solid? The producer of the franchise said that "2023 will be the year of many long-awaited announcements"
Two theses concerning Konami have been circulating on the Internet for a long time:
- The Japanese want to revive their old popular franchises.
- A remake of some part of Metal Gear Solid is in the works (most often referred to the third part of the series created by Hideo Kojima).
The Japanese have begun to implement the first point and have announced a number of new Silent Hill titles, including a remake of the cult game Silent Hill 2.
The second rumor hasn't been officially confirmed, but in a recent interview with Famitsu magazine Metal Gear Solid producer Noriaki Okamura confirmed that "2023 will be the year of many long-awaited announcements".
Konami has three major franchises: Silent Hill, Castlevania and MGS. The horror series is very popular and we've already forgotten about Castlevania except for the most devoted fans, but Metal Gear Solid is constantly on the infopoints and most importantly, is really popular with the audience.
Well, 2023 is already on the doorstep. We wait for the official news about the famous stealth action spy.
