Former Playground Games employees founded Maverick Games, where they are developing a "premium open world game" for consoles and PC

Mike Brown, former creative director of Playground Games, announced the founding of a new studio, Maverick Games, which also includes other former PG employees:

• Tom Butcher, former executive producer at Playground Games;
• Matt Craven - former technical director at Playground Games;
• Gareth Harwood - former content director at Playground Games;
• Fraser Strachan - former audio director at Playground Games.

"Our goal is for Maverick Games to be a studio that people will love," said Brown, "For players, we’re already at work on an exciting ultra-high quality title, and for developers, we’re building a home where everyone is encouraged to take risks, be curious, be creative, be innovative, be themselves, and above all—be a Maverick."
