Sales of The Callisto Protocol fall short of Krafton's expectations
Perhaps for gamers and horror fans, The Callisto Protocol was the biggest disappointment of 2022.
On the promotional materials The Callisto Protocol looked impressive, and the loud promises of the developers only fueled the interest of the audience. But then the game came out and it turned out that apart from the mass of bugs and deficiencies, it has almost no story, and the gameplay is not impressive.
As a consequence, The Callisto Protocol does not bring the profit that publisher Krafton had hoped for.
Here's What We Know
Thus, according to the news portal K-Odyssey, the developers had planned to sell 5 million copies of the horror and earn more than $650 million, but now the appetite of Krafton and the Striking Distance studio has dropped significantly. It's good if the game sells 2 million copies and makes $500 million.
Critics and user reviews on various platforms are not optimistic, so there is no reason to believe that the situation will change for the better.
Exact sales figures for The Callisto Protocol will be available from Krafton's financial report which will appear in February.
