Capcom plans to break its sales records this year
Developer Capcom is predicting that its sales by the end of the fiscal year will break its previous record and surpass the 40 million mark.
Details
2022 was a significant financial year for Capcom, as it released several major titles, such as the major Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise and Winter Expansion for Resident Evil Village, and it will soon release the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil 4, which should collect the required number of copies sold before the end of the financial year at the end of March.
A new series of financial results from Capcom demonstrates the developer's huge success in the last nine months of 2022. Capcom reported selling a staggering 29.1 million games between April 2022 and December 2022, ostensibly expecting this number to increase to over 40 million by the end of March. Capcom also reportedly expects 90% of these sales to come from digital storefronts.
Well, we'll see if the publisher can pull off this "ear trick" and still beat its previous record.
