Discord may slow down some Nvidia graphics cards

Some users of Nvidia graphics cards have started complaining that with the recent Discord update, games have started to run a little worse. As it turned out, this is not just a coincidence - the problem is in the application itself. So far, we know of problems with RTX 3080 and RTX 3060, but it is definitely more widespread (given the number of reports).

The problem was first reported on Reddit, and Nvidia promptly offered a temporary fix. If you notice that your memory frequency drops to 200 MHz, you can download the GeForce 3D profile manager and apply the fix earlier. You can read more about this in an article from Nvidia.

Discord recently started rolling out an update that allows AV1 streaming with GeForce RTX 40 series cards. It seems that this update has caused memory clock issues on some RTX 30-series cards, but Reddit users with RTX 40-series cards have not experienced any such slowdowns.
