Improvements to the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt do not stop. Developers have revealed further plans to fix bugs and optimise the game

CD Projekt RED continues to improve the non-xtgen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Thus, on the official developer's forum there is information about further plans to fix the game's flaws.

Now gamemakers of the Polish studio are working on the following tweaks (below is the text from the website):

- Processor cores usage

We are working on improving how the game affects CPU core utilization.

- Performance of DirectX 12 version

We're constantly working on improving the overall performance and stability of the game on DirectX 12, and we hope you'll see improvements in the upcoming patches.

- Performance on next-gen consoles

We've received reports that some players are noticing a drop in frame rate on next-gen consoles in performance mode. This is particularly noticeable in more demanding locations such as Novigrad and Bockler.

- Global illumination improvements with ray tracing

We're working on reducing memory leaks due to global illumination.

- Improvements to shadow tracing

We're investigating an issue with shadows from vegetation "popping out" depending on how close and at what angle Geralt is to them.

- We restore scattered shadows based on the horizon line (HBAO) on the PC.

- Game crashes

We are constantly investigating the causes of game crashes reported to us via telemetry and tech support.

- The "Prepare for Battle" challenge is still not working for some players.

We know that players who were unable to talk to Avallak'h before patch 4.01 may have encountered another problem: after the patch, the dialogue options that allow them to progress through the quest disappeared. We're figuring out the underlying cause and trying to reproduce it.


The developers from CD Projekt RED thank gamers for their feedback. Information from the players helps to detect bugs, fix them and make the game better.
