Gothic Remake producer: Work on the game is on track, but release is still a long way off

Alkimia Interactive, with the support of publisher THQ Nordic, has been working on the remake of the cult RPG Gothic for several years.

Project producer Reinhard Pollice gave an interview to German portal TechRadar, where he talked about how the work on the game progresses.

Here's What We Know

According to Reinhard Pollice, the development team is on schedule, but Gothic Remake release date is still far off, because not a single element of the game is 100% ready.

World design and related graphics are taking a long time these days. We haven't completed any element 100% yet. Our main focus is on artificial intelligence. In my opinion, Gothic has always been a pioneer game with an elaborate open world, and in the remake we want to emphasize on that again. Thus, we intend to go far beyond what the original game offered and offer an even more immersive world.

Currently, 45 people are working on Gothic Remake at Alkimia Interactive, but some elements of the game are being created by third-party developers.

When We Can Expect It

The release date for Gothic Remake has not been announced yet, but we know that the updated game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
