Ubisoft is known to be betting heavily on the Assassin's Creed brand.

The French developer officially confirmed back in the autumn of 2022 that it is working on several projects for the franchise:

  • Assassin's Creed: Mirage;
  • Assassin's Creed: Codename Red in the setting of feudal Japan;
  • Codename Hexe, about Europe during the Witch Hunt;
  • Codename Jade, a mobile game about Chinese assassins;
  • Assassin's Creed Invictus, a multiplayer game from the creators of For Honor.

A VR game codenamed Nexus is also known to be announced at E3 2023. What's more, Ubisoft is so confident about the success of the VR game Assassin's Creed Nexus, that they have already thought about the sequel - it was reported earlier by some insiders.

Here's What We Know

Tom Henderson has revealed that Ubisoft's plans are much more global than announced. He has learned that there are three more games in development:

  1. Project Nebula by Ubisoft Sofia (Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Assassin's Creed Rogue) - events take place in three locations at once: India, the Mediterranean and Aztec lands;
  2. Ubisoft Chengdu's Project Raid is a cooperative, free-to-play title that will give gamers access to many iconic characters from the Assassin's Creed universe.
  3. Project Echoes by Ubisoft Annecy (Steep, The Division 2) is another online game about which there are no details.

Henderson's sources claim that Ubisoft plans to bring back the annual release schedule for new Assassin's Creed installments.

When We Can Expect It

The games are all at different stages of production. What is certain is that Mirage will be released as early as this year.

The release of the VR game Nexus will probably not be long in coming either.

Codename Red is scheduled for release in 2024, Assassin's Creed Invictus in 2025, and Assassin's Creed Hexe in 2026.
