Yoshida: PC version of Final Fantasy XVI won't be released six months after PlayStation release
We've heard before that Final Fantasy XVI will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for some time, but Square Enix has been very vague about it, but now we have an official, definitive statement. In a post on the Japanese PlayStation blog, the game's producer Naoki Yoshida said that he would love to release a PC version, but it simply won't be ready in six months, as the entire development team is optimising the project for PlayStation 5:
"I've caused a bit of a stir with my remarks the other day, but I'd like to touch on the PC version. First of all, it is true that FINAL FANTASY XVI is a six-month limited time exclusive on the PS5 platform. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will be released in half a year. I will make it clear, but the PC version will not come out in half a year, said Yoshida, via machine translation.", said Yoshida.
Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5 is scheduled to release on 22 June 2023.
