Polish horror movies take over the world: Bloober Team director talks about the company's ambitious plans
Polish studio Bloober Team is focused on becoming one of the best horror developers in the gaming industry.
The company has already unveiled its plan for the next five years, which includes the release of seven big-budget games, two adaptations of its projects and a board game.
Here's What We Know
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno gave an interview to IGN in which he elaborated on the implementation of such ambitious plans.
Babieno revealed that after the Silent Hill 2 remake, his team will be releasing equally comprehensive and top-notch games. In particular, the Polish developers will do away with primitive and outdated mechanics which gamers are used to calling by the common name of "walking simulator". Bloober Team's games will feature more action, not only to attract a larger audience, but also to introduce new ways of storytelling.
This evolution was succinctly described by Peter Babeno as "Bloober 3.0", which marks a new stage in the company's development that will make Bloober Team a world leader in producing the next generation of horror games.
The developers do not intend to abandon the concept of psychological horror, but will only develop it.
Peter Babeno has hinted that Bloober Team might continue working with Konami on the Silent Hill franchise even after the remake of the second title has been released.
Further success will help Bloober Team remain an independent company, and the Polish studio's game designers will do their best to make games that are interesting, challenging and complex. And with Piotr Babeno being named the most innovative director in the game industry in 2022, his plans have every chance of coming to fruition.
