The Outlast Trials will be released in early access in May
Canadian developer Red Barrels has announced that The Outlast Trilas will be launched in early access on 18 May on Steam and Epic Games Store. Despite the fact that we have little information about the content, the development team has released a short teaser dedicated to the actors' performances:
Players first got access to the game last year during a closed beta that lasted from 28 October to 1 November. More than 1 million players joined the testing, which prompted the team to release their project in early access by summer 2023. The studio's co-founder Philippe Morin said that the participants provided insightful feedback that will help improve the game.
The Outlast Trials tells the story of human guinea pigs who are unwittingly recruited by the Murkoff Corporation to test mind control and brainwashing techniques. Players can plunge into the dark side of Mount Massive Alysum on their own or face off against maniacs with friends in co-op mode for up to four players. Players will also be provided with a set of tools to help them develop new tactics and ways out of difficult situations.
