The story of Final Fantasy XVI can be completed in 30 hours. If you complete additional tasks, you will need 70
Hiroshi Takai gave an interview to Famitsu magazine, where he told more about Final Fantasy XVI and its timing.
Here's What We Know
The game will have 11 hours of cutscenes, but this does not include scenes during battles or when the player performs additional tasks. Therefore, the final number of hours allocated only for game clips is unknown.
The main story can be completed in 35 hours, and players will need about 70 hours to complete additional tasks.
Takai initially wanted to make the game playable in 20-24 hours, but during development, the game's time frame expanded. However, no one wanted to make the story too long so that players wouldn't get bored. The developers want FF16 to be like a rollercoaster, where players can expect surprises, battles, an interesting story and additional content.
The game will also feature a New Game+ mode and a leaderboard to compare your achievements with other players.
When We Can Expect It
Final Fantasy XVI will be released on 22 June 2023 exclusively for PlayStation, but the game may appear on PC in 2024.
