Krafton has published a roadmap for PUBG: Battlegrounds, describing the game's development plan and sharing several features that are currently being implemented. The map includes changes to both regular and ranked modes, updated firefight mechanics, and a new map codenamed Neon.

Here's What We Know

The developers will be making changes to the ranked game to keep it online and away from stagnant gameplay. All 8-kilometre maps will be available in ranked matches, and new ones will be added after stabilisation. Players will also be able to find features familiar to regular matches, such as the folded shield, emergency pickup, and blue zone grenade. In addition, the rewards for the ranked mode will be improved, providing more incentives for players to take on new challenges each season.

As for regular matches, they will be improved until the end of 2023. The development team aims to reduce stress and increase enjoyment of the game, so it will increase the item sleeper rating and introduce a new revival system "to ease the frustration and burden of dying after a long time farming".

Krafton also introduced a new map, Neon. It combines modern and traditional elements and will feature many objects ranging from skyscrapers to rural areas that "create a truly unique atmosphere that has never been seen in PUBG before."
