Fighting game MultiVersus will soon temporarily shut down servers to prepare for full release

The director of fighting game MultiVersus, Tony Huynh, has announced in a new Beta Update video that the game will soon suspend servers until 2024:

According to him, this is necessary so that the developers can prepare for the full-fledged powerful launch of the game sometime in early 2024. But don't worry: offline functionality, including battles with bots and in local co-op with friends, as well as cosmetics and unlocked items, will continue to be available.

The exact date of the shutdown is 25 June 2023, which will mark the end of the beta test. Once the game reopens in 2024, it will have many improvements to the online code, progression and matchmaking, and of course new maps and characters, Huynh assures.
