The organisers appear to have big problems coming to E3.

This year, finally, for the first time since 2019, the main video game event was planned to be held in a live format. E3 2023 was expected to be a real event for gamers and game developers.

But there is less and less chance of success, and the cancellation of E3 is looking more and more realistic.

The main problem of the organizers is that the giants of the industry refused their participation in the exhibition.

The main reasons are the following

  • revision of big publishers' preferences in favour of their own shows;
  • Lack of a clear plan of events from E3 organizers which makes it difficult for companies to build budgets and programme.

Microsoft and Nintendo confirmed back in winter that they would not be appearing at E3.

Ubisoft made a final decision the other day not to attend the international show.

Electronic Arts and Sony have long been absent from the show and there is no indication that they will change their plans this year.

IGN has learned today that two more giants have refused to visit Los Angeles, with Sega and Tencent confirming that they are refusing to participate in the biggest gaming event.

Of the major companies, Square Enix, Embracer Group, Activision Blizzard, Epic Games, Take-Two and Warner Bros Games have yet to comment on their plans for June 2023.

For now, the E3 situation looks very worrying.
