"Almost finished, but not finished": Bloober Team comments on Silent Hill 2 remake ready for release
Last week it was reported in the media that a remake of the Polish Bloober Team-directed horror game Silent Hill 2 is almost ready for release, with potential sales of around 10 million copies.
Many gamers have taken the words of Bloober Team's director Piotr Babieno too literally and started to ask the company lots of questions which they are not yet prepared to answer.
Contrary to their own rule not to comment on rumours, the game designers have published a statement in which they clarified the situation.
Here's What We Know
Bloober Team is clarifying that reports that the Silent Hill 2 remake is ready for a release have been exaggerated and taken out of context.
The core work on the game is now complete, but there is still a large grind of the horror game ahead. In addition, the Polish studio is unable to divulge any deadlines, because it is the responsibility of publisher Konami.
As for the prediction of "10 million copies sold," the statement reads, "the company has not shared sales projections for its games, including the Silent Hill 2 remake”. It's not entirely clear what that means, either Peter Babeno said too much, or the media misrepresented what he said.
The developers are happy that their game has been anticipated by millions of gamers, but are asked to rely only on official sources: Konami and Bloober Team reports.
