The Dungeons & Dragons expansion for Minecraft, which adds a variety of Forgotten Realm locations and four new classes to the game, has finally been officially announced! It will take players on a 10-hour journey through the D&D universe, meeting various creatures such as Mimics and Beholders along the way.

Here's What We Know

During the live stream, Mojang Studios and WotC producers Riccardo Lenzi and Tom Sargent announced a collaboration between Minecraft and Dungeons & Dragons, which will add a lot of content from the famous RPG to the sandbox, the first portion of which will come in the form of DLC. Similar to previous add-ons, Minecraft Dungeons & Dragons is a story-driven DLC in which you will have to complete various tasks. There are four character classes available for the game: Paladin, Barbarian, Wizard, and Rogue, each with their own unique skills.

The expansion is intended only for the storyline, which means you won't be able to play in creative or survival mode. The new Forgotten Realm locations will be a centre that players can visit before embarking on an adventure. In addition, classic D&D monsters such as the Beholder, Mimic, Gold Dragon, and Gelatinous Cube will be introduced with the DLC.

Finally, the campaign features a narrative supported by voice actors, as well as new music to get the event going. The DLC will be available this spring on all platforms that support Minecraft.
