Korean publisher Krafton has become the largest shareholder in Polish studio People Can Fly, developer of the shooters Painkiller, Bulletstorm and Outriders
Polish studio People Can Fly, known to gamers for shooters Painkiller, Bulletstorm and Outriders, has announced that South Korean company Krafton, which owns the rights to The Callisto Protocol, PUBG and other popular games, has become its largest shareholder.
Here's What We Know
Krafton acquired more than 60 per cent of the shares in the new issue at the end of February 2023. As a result of this investment, Krafton now owns 10% of the share capital of People Can Fly Group.
Separately, it is stressed that the Polish developers will not lose their creative freedom, but will receive a much-needed (after the breakdown of relations with Square Enix and Take-Two) financial infusion.
It is also noted that if People Can Fly require the services of a third-party publisher, Krafton will have priority for ten years.
