E3 show officially cancelled

The inevitability of the cancellation of E3 was in the air.

And it has happened.

E3 2023 has been cancelled.

The organizer Electronic Software Association (ESA) sent out an official letter to the partners, notifying them that the international exhibition E3 would not take place.

The main reason for the cancellation was the lack of attendance, as all the major exhibitors refused to present their games at the summer event in Los Angeles.

E3 remains our favourite event and brand. The 2023 version has not generated the sustained interest needed to host it in a way that demonstrates the size, strength and impact of our industry.

Well, perhaps E3 in its usual format has outlived its usefulness. It's time for individual shows and presentations from game developers.
