Digital Foundry has conducted a technical analysis of Overdrive Mode in Cyberpunk 2077 and is thrilled with Nvidia's technology
Tomorrow - April 11 - Cyberpunk 2077 will feature Overdrive Mode, which will allow users of the latest graphics cards from Nvidia to significantly improve the graphics quality and visual effects of the Polish RPG.
Here's What We Know
Digital Foundry did a technical review of Overdrive Mode and were thrilled with it.
In their review they say it really takes graphics to a new level and call it "the most ambitious ray tracing mode currently available".
When Overdrive Mode is enabled, each object casts lifelike shadows and the game's lighting is transformed, making the game's visuals more believable than ever before and surprising the most demanding gamers.
And thanks to the DLSS 3, owners of powerful computers can play Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K resolution and high FPS, even when Overdrive Mode is turned on.
A quick note: Digital Foundry experts conducted the test on a computer with RTX 4090 graphics card - everything worked perfectly. But other GPUs can cause serious problems, so Digital Foundry will do additional testing with weaker graphics cards later.
