Ukraine's Anti-Monopoly Committee approves the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard
Another country has approved the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
This decision was announced by the Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine, which did not see any danger in the merger of the two giants neither for the Ukrainian market nor for the global gaming industry.
The Ukrainian regulator does not agree with the CMA's opinion that Microsoft may get absolute control of the cloud services market and points out that the deal will help the development of IT-industry in Ukraine and in the world.
Ukraine agrees with regulators in Chile, Serbia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Africa and Japan, but whether the decision will help Microsoft in its fight for Activision Blizzard is a big question, as the corporation needs to convince European officials, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and win a court appeal against the CMA of the transparency and promise of the deal.
