The Last of Us, Wii Sports, Computer Space and Barbie Fashion Designer have been honoured with a place in the Video Game Hall of Fame at The Strong Museum

The World Video Game Hall of Fame at The Strong Museum has added four items to its collection.

A strict jury selects the most worthy interactive entertainment from thousands of applicants, and the 2023 inductees include The Last of Us, Wii Sports, Computer Space and Barbie Fashion Designer.

The jury explains their choice as follows:

• The Last of Us (2013) was a revolution among story-driven action games and has remained one of the most popular and talked about games for ten years, and the franchise has been given new life after the release of the HBO series;
• Barbie Fashion Designer (1996) proved that games were not solely a masculine pastime. This game attracted a huge number of girls, which in its time was the impetus for the development of games aimed at a female audience;
• Computer Space (1971) was the first commercial video game and began the development of the gaming industry;
• Wii Sports (2006) attracted a huge audience of players of all ages thanks to its simple controls and intuitive gameplay.
